Saving Money with Yogi Chai Tea

A lot of people will waste their money on yogi chai tea by going and getting these drinks made for them. A lot of the time when you do this you will actually end up getting yogi teas that are not as healthy as they should be and are extremely expensive. They are typically very easy to make and can allow you to save a lot of money in the process. Necessary Ingredients

It is important that you have the proper ingredients for yogi chai tea and that you know how to use them properly. You will start off with 2 quarts of water. Remember that when you used distilled, tap or mineral water that you are going to affect the taste of your chai teas greatly. You will need to try to go with bottled or filtered water for the best possible taste with your tea. From there, you will need to have 20 black peppercorns, 15 whole cloves, and 20 whole cardamom pods, be sure that you split the pods beforehand. In addition to this, you will need 3 sticks of cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of black tea leaves, decaf or regular will work for yogi chai tea. This will equal out to be 1 to 2 tea bags. The 8 fresh ginger slices that you need will need to be about ¼” thick and you will not need to worry about peeling them. For the taste of your yogi herbal tea, soy or dairy milk will suffice along with maple syrup or honey.

Total Time Needed

You will need to make sure that you are able to put aside about 3 hours for it to cook. Prep time will not take you longer than 5 minutes. Just be aware that this is something that is going to need some time to cook so that you can get the full taste and aroma of your yogi chai tea.

Making the Tea

When it comes to making the tea you will have to start off with bringing your water to a boil. From there, add your cloves necessary for the yogi tea recipe and give it a minute to boil with them. From there, add peppercorns, cardamom, ginger and cinnamon. Cover it and let this mixture boil for about 30 minutes. From there, allow the heat to be reduced and let it simmer for anywhere from 2 to 3 full hours. Once this has happened, you can take it off the heat and add your black tea. Let this mixture cool and then strain it. Store your yogi chai tea in the refrigerator and reheat it whenever you are ready for a cup. Add honey or milk to taste. When it comes to reheating your herbal chai tea, it all comes down to how hot you prefer it. Some like to have it extremely hot while others prefer it warm. It does not have to be any certain temperature for you to be able to enjoy it. If you are unsure about whether or not you will like the milk or honey mixture for your yogi chai tea, pour a little bit at a time and try it with one or the other or both.
